given to grumbly growling
and big happy grins.

eclectic personal ramblings
unchecked verbosity
ruminations and pondering

It seemed somehow that politicians were very important. And yet, anything seemed important about them except their politics.

Making things prettier...

A few things are a little wonky, but it looks like the most heinous of the cross-browser issues are resolved. Things are at least readable in IE, NS, and Mozilla, if not picture-perfect.

In the process, I've learned a whole lot about dealing with irksome inconsistencies in cross-browser CSS implementation, and managed to severely reduce my dependency on layout tables. Woohoo!

I'll eventually get around to tweaking to fix the few cosmetic design issues remaining, but I hope this is good enough for now. Post a comment if you're still having issues, and tell me what browser you're using.

Making things pretty...

Hardware-related delays have given me a bit of free time here, so I decided to tinker with the site a bit.

I fixed some of the more irksome differences in CSS rendering between IE 5.5 and IE6. They were causing things that looked fabulous in IE6 to look quite ugly in IE5.5.

Still a few alignment issues with the galleries, but things are generally looking much better.

To the IE 5.5 users, my apologies for the suffering you have endured. It should be much prettier now.

Princeton, again. Note to self: Go right to go left.

I'm leaving Monday for another two weeks in Princeton. Originally, it was to be one week, but now it's two.

This time, I will attempt to do my blog updates more contemporaneously with the events they chronicle. I'm only half-done with the report on the last trip, so things can only go up from here, right?

So, if you're among my New Jersey / New York area friends, drop me an e-mail or a comment on this message and we'll make plans. With two weeks worth of dates to choose from, it shouldn't be too hard to coordinate schedules.

For the rest of you, I'll do my best to keep you updated, but should I fail, I encourage you to peruse the options on the blogroll at lower left in the "link" section. There's some excellent stuff in there, including some recent additions.

This time, at least, I will be prepared for the lack of left turns.
