words of my neighborhood
given to grumbly growling
and big happy grins.

eclectic personal ramblings
unchecked verbosity
ruminations and pondering

why does the sock monkey love it so?

It seemed somehow that politicians were very important. And yet, anything seemed important about them except their politics.

Catching up on old promises...

Things have been a little uneven around here for a while, what with the travelling back and forth, the finer points of career decisions occupying my mind with issues best not discussed in public until they are well behind me, and a sizable pile of work to be done awaiting me every time I step off a plane in a new location.

Once again, my apologies for the lack of content, and the rather boring nature of what has in fact appeared here.

Now that Antville is up and running again, at least for the moment, I'm catching up on some old stories I kept meaning to tell but never finished. The first of those can be seen below—an account of Day 3 of my very first trip to Princeton.

More to come! Thanks for your patience!

Pardon the mess.

Antville.org is experiencing some problems with the upgrade. The site may be intermittently available for a while. Bear with me / them — soon everything should be back to normal.

Update: Everything is up and running again, but there's some CSS weirdness making things disappear on some of the pages, particularly the comments. It's going to take me a while to figure out everything that's different about this new version, so meanwhile, continue to pardon the mess.

But at least the site is up.

Welcome to the Central Time Zone!

Wahoo! Antville.org has been updated with the shiny new pre-1.0 release. The most immediate benefit is time-zone localization. Entry dates and times are now localized to my physical location in Austin, Texas, USA, Central Time Zone.

The loveliest thing about this is that all of the entries, old and new, have been automatically adjusted. Sweet!
