words of my neighborhood
given to grumbly growling
and big happy grins.

eclectic personal ramblings
unchecked verbosity
ruminations and pondering

why does the sock monkey love it so?

It seemed somehow that politicians were very important. And yet, anything seemed important about them except their politics.

Site Update

Apologies for Temporal Dislocation

You may have noticed that the times and dates of my postings seem a bit odd. The server hosting this site is somewhere in Europe, and the truly brilliant minds behind antville have not yet completed a localization scheme for the product. They're working on it, though -- find out more at project.antville.org if you're really interested.

Meanwhile, just subtract 7 hours from any timestamp to find out when I actually posted something from here in Austin, Texas, U.S. Central Daylight-Savings Time.

Poetry

Newly revised random poetic snippet

Found this lying around in the electronic snippet graveyard, edited it a little, and ended up with the following untitled poem....

You and I can laugh together at the heavy heft of this thin thing: my pig of pages fatted for the lean kill in spring, to whom no farmer comes.

These verses are content to wallow in their own mud, and it is a fine thought to keep your hands clean of common poetry.

A pig in a poke—we can both find that funny.

Silly Quiz Memes
5/23/02, 9:45 AM

I am the Fool! Goo Goo G-Joob!

Postings of these sorts of silly quiz-memes will probably be minimal on my part -- enough other people link them that the chances of my introducing anything new are slim to none.

Still, in the rare cases such as this one when the result of the quiz appears to actually indicate something interestingly accurate about my persona, I'll pass it on.

In this case, in the world of tarot cards...

I am The Fool.

I've always rather fancied artist Dave McKean's interpretations of the tarot, though, so here are his fool cards from The Vertigo Tarot deck and the book The Particle Tarot.
